I am continuing my research into how I can create a surface that reflects the natural ageing and patina of an object. This has led me to carry out numerous experiments and tests.
Recently graduating with an MA from Edinburgh College of Art, my work appreciates transient beauty and impermanence. I am intrigued by the effects of time and decay, especially places and objects that have fallen into a state of disrepair. I explore this condition in enamel, playing with both control and unpredictability. The resulting work appears as a series of snapshots of surfaces frozen in time.
